Question. Can I use the VM101 without Virtual Monitoring service?
Answer. No. The VM101 was specifically designed for internet alarm connectivity with extreme thought put into ease of use. being that it bridges the alarm control to our cutting edge automation systems it makes the work of the customer a cinch. Hosting the user/interface outside of the local network makes the overall product less expensive. The brains are in a data center, less cost / alarm panel power goes into the VM101 further lowering the up front capital investment.
Having the control bridged to the data center also allows for a plethora
of options for signal routing, we have no ceiling on capacity. Access
to a lot of strong network services including cellular and traditional
PSTN TDM access for delivery of those cool notifications.
Hosting the user/interface also allows us to build a strong ever-evolving
suite of features leveraging the latest web technologies available now
and into the future.
Virtual Monitoring service also has end-to-end line supervision to the VM101 to make sure your internet connection is online.
Isn't $8.99 per month worth the peace of mind knowing you will get the alarm signal?
