Section 1.1: Edit Customer Details
On the main Compass software screen, select the customer whose details you wish to edit or click Add Customer to set up a account for your system. If this is the first time using Compass with your panel make sure the account number matches the same account number you put in your panel when you set up your VM101. You can leave the receiver number blank or put anything you want in there.
When you have selected the customer, click the 'Detail' button located within the 'Customer Options' panel located near the bottom right of the application.
This brings up the details window. If this is the first time using Compass then select the panel type. Other wise the only field that needs to be edited is the one labeled 'Panel Phone Number' in the 'Network Device' panel. This is your Compass Phone Number found on your device page when you log into your account.

The modem setup needs to be edited on the customer who you wish to use the Compass software with. Start off by double clicking the customer from the table on the main screen.
This will bring up the *EDIT* screen. Click the 'Communications!' menu item.
This will bring up a new screen. Now click the 'File' menu followed by the 'Modem setup' sub-item.
Open the 'Modem Setup' screen (File->Modem Setup) and set the 'Comm Port' drop-down to '4' (Default for our driver, or use correct port if configured differently). Click the 'Modem' drop-down list and choose 'Accura 336 for the modem'. All other settings in the window are irrelevant.
Once you have done this, click the Apply and OK buttons to save these settings.

After performing the modem setup you can connect to the panel by clicking the 'Connect' button located near the top left corner of the window.
When you click the 'Connect' button, the 'Communications' window appears. Uncheck both 'Answering Machine Defeat' and 'Enable TCP/IP'. The 'Panel Phone #' can be found in the 'Device' view within the device page in the customer Portal. The phone number is randomly and uniquely assigned to each BAT. When you log into your account online, click on Contacts and then click on your user name, You will then see the serial number of your unit, Click on the serial number and that is the device page, from there you will see your compass phone number.
NOTE: If it is the first time connecting with Compass then select First Time Communications and if you already set up a account number in the panel such as 0000 in * 43 then make sure the account number is the same as what you programmed in and check Acct # in Panel. After the first time using compass to upload and download the panel you can select Use Account CSID.
INPORANT NOTE: If your panel has already been programmed make sure you do an Upload First to get what is programmed in the panel now or you will loose all the programming, then after any changes, do a Download to the panel for it to program the panel with the new changes.
